Installation Guide

This page provides detailed installation instructions for YouClaw across all supported platforms.

System Requirements

macOS Installation

Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4)

1. Download the .dmg installer
2. Double-click to open the DMG file
3. Drag YouClaw to the Applications folder
4. On first launch, if you see a security prompt, go to System Settings > Privacy & Security to allow it

Intel

Same steps as Apple Silicon — just make sure to download the Intel version.

Windows Installation

1. Download the .exe installer
2. Double-click to run the installer
3. Follow the installation wizard
4. Launch from the Start Menu or desktop shortcut after installation

Configuration

API Key Setup

YouClaw uses the Anthropic API to power AI capabilities. You need to:

1. Register an Anthropic account
2. Generate an API Key in the console
3. Enter the API Key in YouClaw settings

Proxy Settings

If you're behind a proxy, you can configure the HTTP proxy address in settings.

FAQ

macOS says "can't be opened because the developer cannot be verified"

Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security, find the YouClaw prompt, and click "Open Anyway".

Windows SmartScreen warning

Click "More info", then choose "Run anyway".
